I have a '03 TJ and my heater only blows air on the highest setting. When it is on the first three setting it is like you have it turned off. I can't complain too much as it still blows heat on those -30 days but the combination of noise from my exhaust, tires and blower on high all the time is starting to drive me crazy. The only solution I could find to fight that was turn the stereo up louder! Any idea on how to fix this problem or is a whole new unit in my future?

There ya go. It's probably about a $25 part, plus if it's like my YJ, you'll need a third joint in your wrist to replace it.

Sure thing, anytime. :) I'm going to "sticky" this one as it's a common problem.

No, the resistor is for fan speed only. When they crap out, it will only work in HIGH speed.
Sounds like you have a mixing flap issue, Pat. Any "aftermarket" wiring run though your diffusers (vents)? Something may be blocking them, or dirt, leaves, ect....

3 Jeeps.... enough said. I need a cheaper hobby.

I'm suffering from the same problem on my 92' cherokee. It blows heavy on the windshield but it's very light when venting.

Blowing just through the defrost could be a vacuum leak. The controler is vacuum actuated and has a fail safe to defrost.

Jeeps are like LEGO...build it...play with it...break it...build it again!
