If a persons newer vehicle was written off or stolen, does the coverage provider only pay what the vehicle was "worth" at the time, or do they pay the outstanding amount on the loan? Does it depend on the persons coverage maybe?

It depends on specified coverage. I insure mine for replacement value on the new pick up. I'm going to have to see what the coverage is on the jeep and car, they were both used when I bought them.

I think it's what the vehicle is worth on the market today, not how much you owe. Your bank loan insurance would be for over paying for a vehicle and wanting coverage if you wreck it and insurance doesn't pay the difference.

My vehicles have two years zero depreciation insurance. After the two years they would pay out whatever they're worth.
