Waytec and I met with SRD again today. They are interested in, and encouraged us, to submit a proposal for trail work and repairs on this trail, including repair work to the lookout tower. They also promised us that it would NOT take 6 months for approval or anything close to that.

Quote:
That being said, there's still plans in the works for people from other clubs to go out there, erect fences, etc. without SRD approval. If that does go ahead, it could cause some issues.

We've told SRD that we're not going to be involved in any unofficial trail repairs. Due to the setbacks in relations, legal issues, etc. I am asking people to please refrain from doing anything that could set back our plans to work on trail sustainment in this area.

We were basically told today to put down on paper what we want to do, and submit it to them for final approval. Going ahead without that right now does not make any sense.

Okay, looks like the people being involved in doing these repairs are planning to (or already have) submitted a proposal to SRD, and should have approval before going in. When they do, there will be no issues with going in and helping out if you so choose, although as it isn't an official club, I'm not sure how that works with personal insurance.

Also, they are planning on working on the entrance area. This should not affect our plans for repair of the complete trail.

No fences will be errected. Just dead wood blockades of by passes that after a few years will rot away and by then the bypasses should be well grown in. I am not going to go into details on an open forum.

No clubs are involved as stated in my PM's this is strictly a group of individuals who want to make a difference.
