Funny, isn't it? 15 years ago, there were significantly more large vehicles in there. Time they start charging a back country user fee, bridge streams, "improve" trails, (not too much), and allow us to access our back country responsibly, instead of closing it off. I love those falls, and want my kids to see them, but that's one of those areas where it's not a nice hike to get into the falls.

Havnt been back there since they closed it. Thought the closure had something to do with grizzly bear numbers too...?

Maybe if they see this stuff, they should get together with atv and 4x4 clubs and work with everyone to help build bridges, trail work, etc. I for 1 would help out to keep our trails open. One of my favorite things to do is go out in the west country.

I was trying to look at the backroads map book and see if I could find the trail that we did long ago ... Off to the left had side of the gravel road at the end .... Typically I would go right out to the falls ..... ( that make sense ? ) hahahah .That trail to the left was good ... Popped back out in the flats and we ended up on the trunk road ... That was a good time.

Use to go the fall a far amount on the bikes , got there one in the fj40 Ana once in the jeep before I heard the gate down the road was closed .

Maybe I'm wrong here, it's been over a decade now....but I'm pretty sure that is the guy who helped nail the coffin shut on the Jeep Jamboree.

Last time i tried the trail yer referring to we had to turn back. Banks were too steep from high water levels and wash outs. Was looking to be a totally different trail though with new routes and such would like to try it again sometime

I believe that one was referred to as "Tate's Run" in memory of a fellow wheeler who passed suddenly.
