So toady I was told that they are not tearing up the falls creek road. They are putting in a logging road and turning it into a main line. Does anyone have any contacts at SRD that can tell us what the hell is going on. I thought it was supposed to be grizzly bear rehabilitation. Kinda hard for grizzly bears to habitat when there are no f’n trees. :x

Was there a few weeks ago( Aug) and a guy stopped us at the entrance. Said he was welding in a gate that day and there would be no more access to the road.( except for logging trucks). Not even to the capmground. They put a pile of huge rocks near the entrance also. I maybe wrong but I think Gumbi has info on whats happening there.

I haven't talked to them in a very long time but what I did find out indirectly from someone in the logging industry. all the logging companies are pushing lots of roads threw for the next several years of harvesting so they don't lose access.

if you know of don't know the federal government is doing a official count of the grizzly bears. now based on the results of this count they will determine if the numbers are poor(endangered species)OK (protected species) good(nothing changes) Excellent( we get to hunt them)
I am going to bet they will get protected because the tree huggers are bucking the numbers are bad and it gives the government that is getting slammed on nature policies a way of saying "look we are doing something good"

What this means for us is the land impact factor will change. i.e. we will get so many Km of trail to hectare. But wait according to the government there are no trails other then what is on the one map bighorn backcountry. So the logging companies can apply for what they want.
Unless all the groups get together and work together nothing will change. I have tried and have been told to frick off, or no one wants a trail system, or I don't want the government to know where we are going. Well they know, it is not hard to track a truck or a quad. people need to learn to stay the hell out of the wet areas and not make it look like a Vietnam bomb run. stick to the trails and work together.

Well I am still willing to work on it. I know it is the only way of the future. But I need more people to come forward and do more than say that is a good idea you should do that. SRD will not do anything, or give any money to do anything. they don't have it. they don't even have enough fuel to run the truck for what they do, do. We need to do it. but it will take man power and trail running. also the person running it that is not out for glory or power.

Darcy edit what you want it is 130 in the morning and I am going to bed.
