Well as life changes, so does our requirements in our rigs. The 8 Lug Thug just isn't quite roomy enough for myself and my two boys. So I started the hunt for something new. Requirements now consisted of the need for room for me and the two boys, plus gear and tools. Be a classic. Removable top. And be "different" enough to turn heads. And be reliable enough to drive on street regularly.

As some of you may know I picked up a 1968 Jeepster last June. It was an impulse by and i had big hopes for it. Suspension was a mess. Motor was unreliable. Interior gutted and butchered. Wiring was scary. BUT... body was great shape and I figured thats all that mattered. Started gathering parts for it and as time has been going by I couldn't stand staring at it any longer, wondering when, if ever I'd be wheeling it.

So early January this year I found another 1968 Jeepster. It was just as solid of body or better than the first. And the big plus was it had a recent rebuilt Dauntless V6, a custom roll cage w/ frame tie-ins already, and the rest of the vehicle was stock and otherwise unmolested. So I dragged it home too. ( this REALLY is a sickness we have)

So build plans are to do axle swap and gears and tires and wheel it this year on stock powertrain. Then next winter to engine/trans swap.

Here's list of major parts being swapped/installed into it over the next year or so.
- Vortec V6
-TH350 w/ advance adapters Dana 20 adapter
-Dana 20 t-case
-Dana 44 rear from 2013 JK w/5.13 gears
-Dana 44 front from FSJ Cherokee w/5.13 gears
-4-link rear with coils
-leaf springs spring under in front
-convert front bolt pattern to 5x5.5 and conversion spacers in rear
-lockers front & rear (undecided what exactly)
-37" Goodyear MTR tires on beadlock wheels
-custom bumpers front rear
-power brake conversion
-power steer conversion with hydro assist
